SKWC Parent Code of Conduct
Stand at the bottom of the bleachers and call out names of wrestlers to get them paired up. Send them to the chairs to sit until they're up to wrestle. If wrestlers look unfairly paired based on weight or age, send wrestlers to the bout table to double check we have the right kids paired up.
You will be standing at the chairs on the floor, checking to make sure if a bout sheet has a table number on it. If it does, send the wrestlers to that table only. If there is no table number, ask our wrestlers if they see their parents at any of the tables and if they say yes, send them to that table only. Otherwise, send them to the next open mat. Please do not allow wrestlers to hang out at the chairs if they are not bouted to wrestle.
This person(s) must arrive at least 30 minutes before matches begin to work with other team's bouter to evenly bout our wrestlers. Wrestlers will be paired by age, weight, and rank (in that order). We allow a 5lb weight difference and a 1-year age difference; any exceedance requires parent permission. If there are any questions, see the head coach or a board member. The other teams know the rules and are great about helping out.
One person will time the match with a stopwatch, alerting the referee when time is up and calling out the pin time in the first round. They will also assist the scorekeeper with point tracking.
The other person will record points on the bout sheet. The referee will announce points, which should be noted in the corresponding round box. Record the time for first-round pins; for pins in later rounds, write "P" in a circle. If you have questions, consult the timekeeper or referee after the round.
